Selena Gomez Revisits Waverly Place From Old Wizards Disney Show: 'Where It All Began'

One of the earliest TV exposures Selena Gomez did was teenage wizard Alex Russo in one of the most iconic Disney sitcom shows, Wizards of Waverly Place, where fans first got to see Selena in a different light — the more mischievous and laid-back version of her. On her Instagram, Gomez posted revisiting the Waverly Place street sign from Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place show. Check out her Instagram post below:

Gomez shared a photo of herself looking up at the Waverly Place sign, along with the caption, 'Where it all began', reminiscing about the time that has passed since then. Currently, she stars in Only Murders in the Building as Mabel Mora, who joins two fellow true crime podcast fans in solving a murder mystery in their own building.

Wizards of Waverly Place had been one of the Disney Channel comedies that set an era for the young generation at the time, alongside The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Lizzie McGuire, Hannah Montana, Good Luck Charlie, and even Sonny with a Chance. The show continues to be memorable as the show fandom were quick to hype the viral video of Selena Gomez and former co-star Jennifer Stone recreating the Crazy Funky Junky Hat song on Tiktok.

In fact, one of the fans on Tiktok posted a side-by-side comparison between the original scene in the TV show and the recreated version, which you can watch here.

It would be no surprise if Wizards of Waverly Place would eventually come up with an official reboot with the original cast, or perhaps a reunion film like the cast of Friends did or Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts where the members recount the times they spent together on set, reveal more of what went behind-the-scenes for fans to gush more about. Selena Gomez did share that she would love to reboot the show on ExtraTV.

While nothing has been confirmed yet for the reboot, you can catch Selena Gomez in Only Murders in the Building on Hulu.
