After starring in Game of Thrones for eight seasons and appearing as Qi'ra in Solo: A Star Wars Story, Emilia Clarke is jumping to another franchise with the MCU series Secret Invasion. So far, the details regarding her role have been kept under wraps, but there are set photos during its filming months ago that gave us a first look at her character's appearance.
Now, it looks like we finally have the information on Clarke's mysterious role in the series thanks to a scoop from notable insider Daniel Richtman according to a report from CBR. It was revealed that Clarke will play the Skrull character Gi'ah/Gloria Warner.
In case you're not familiar with the character's comic origins, Gi'ah initially helped her fellow Skrulls with their invasion of Earth at the beginning. However, she ended up switching sides after seeing the lengths that her people would go to for their mission. Created by Robbie Thompson and Nico Henrichon, she was introduced in Meet the Skrulls #1 back in 2019.
So far, Marvel has not made any confirmations on Clarke's alleged role in Secret Invasion so we still have to take it with a grain of salt until they make an announcement or when they reveal it during a trailer.
Considering that the series is tackling the Skrulls infiltrating Earth and Clarke is expected to have a major role, it is highly likely that the scoop is true and it sounds like an interesting character that she could play as well since she could be one of the centerpieces of the main plot of the series.
It also seems that there is a lot of layer to the character (assuming that they'll go to the similar direction from the comics) which is appealing for someone like Clarke to play. Either way, it is already exciting enough that someone of her caliber is going to be part of one of the most highly-anticipated MCU series.
