We all know for a fact that Marvel Studios is notorious for the level of secrecy that goes into their projects but the Kevin Feige-led production outfit isn't exactly immune to committing occasional booboos. Just recently, an official MCU account on the online GIF search engine Tenor leaked juicy details about Emilia Clarke's mystery character and it turns out that it was all unintentional.

Since the announcement of her Secret Invasion casting, fans have been speculating hard as to which character the Game of Thrones alumnus could end up portraying. Since the show is centered on the Skrulls finally exposing their true colors, there have been persistent rumors that Clarke could be playing the Skrull Queen Veranke.

However, that doesn't seem to be the case and according to the said Tenor page, Emilia is playing S.W.O.R.D. agent Abigail Brand. Following the accidental leak, Marvel Studios quickly made changes to the GIF image's description, removing the "Abigail Brand" tag. You can check out the unaltered screenshot of the page here:

Interestingly, Twitter scooper @CanWeGetToast claims that Emilia will in fact be playing a Skrull named G'iah in the show despite the recent accidental "leak". When you think about it, the idea of the actress pretending to be Abigail Brand actually makes sense plotwise because the entire point of the series is to leave fans questioning whether or not they have everything figured out. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

No official release date has been set for Marvel Studios' Secret Invasion but the series is expected to drop sometime in 2023.
