Sebastian Stan Teases Chris Evans Possibly Returning As Steve Rogers After Avengers: Endgame

Anyone who has seen Avengers: Endgame is already aware that there's a new Captain America in town. However, that probably doesn't mean that Chris Evans is no longer returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sebastian Stan has just teased on the possibility that we will be seeing more of Steve Rogers soon.

Stan was recently in attendance at Italy's Jus In Bello convention where he discussed pretty much everything about Endgame (via Comicbook.com). When asked about what he thought of Steve's story being closed out, the Avengers: Infinity War star suggested that it may not have been an actual conclusion.

"You see when we were filming the movie, I didn't know I was going to be apparently filming it for the last time with them," Stan said. "I think it's difficult to...I don't know if it's goodbye to Steve yet. I don't know, you know? I wonder about that."

Interestingly, Endgame may have offered a way to continue exploring Steve's story. In the film, Steve goes back in time to return all of the Infinity Stones then decided to stay so he could marry Peggy Carter. However, he also got hold of a fully-restored shield which he then passes on to Sam Wilson. Perhaps Marvel Studios will consider producing a period piece exploring what happened to Steve and how he came across the shield.

Of course, Steve's return is still up to Evans. We'll have to wait and see if the Gifted star is eager to revisit his character sometime in the future.

Avengers: Endgame is still screening in theaters worldwide.
