Luke Cage did really well when Marvel dropped the first season of the superhero series on Netflix last year, and while everyone's excited to see Mike Colter's Hero for Hire reunite with Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones in the upcoming Defenders, it seems like Marvel might begin production on the second season of Luke Cage soon.
Today OLV has spotted production signs for Luke Cage. Though the Twitter media account isn't really sure whether the Marvel and Netflix have begun work on the second season of the series just yet, the signs are telling.
That's not all, Misty Knight Star Simone Missick also shared a photo of herself training for her role and even though Jessica Jones is also currently filming, it's very likely that the actress is preparing for the next season of Luke Cage.
Though these signs aren't sure-fire indicators that production is set to begin, it could mean that Marvel and Netflix are in the final stages of pre-production for the Luke Cage season 2. If it is true that production for the series will begin soon, then the next question would be when exactly would the new season see release? Will we get a premiere date after the release of The Defenders? Let's wait and see.
The Defenders drops on Netflix on August 18. Jessica Jones season 2, Daredevil season 3 and Luke Cage season 2 are all still waiting for a premiere date.
