Sean Gunn Says Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3 Is Pushing Through

The Marvel community was sent into a frenzy when Disney fired Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn. The filmmaker had done so much for the Marvel. Not only did he turn one of the most obscure sets of Marvel heroes into the Marvel Cinematic Universe's favorite team of space misfits, but he was also tasked with building the Marvel Cosmic Universe.

Now that he's been kicked out of Marvel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3's been left hanging. Fortunately, the franchise's cast and crew seem to be motivated to finish the trilogy.

Speaking with the Associated Press (via ComicBook.com) during the red carpet event for this week's tribute to Marvel legend Stan Lee held in Los Angeles, Sean Gunn, James Gunn's brother decided to open up about the status of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

James was just recently hired by DC to direct Warner Brother's new Suicide Squad sequel – a surefire guarantee that he wouldn't return to direct GOTG3. Without his brother, what would Sean and his castmates do?

According to the actor who plays Kraglin in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, while his brother would no longer be involved in the project, the film would still push through.

"Well, my brother is doing Suicide Squad 2 right now, which I'm really excited about and I know he's really excited about," Gunn said. "I don't know what's going on beyond that. I mean, Guardians 3 is gonna get made. We're gonna make that movie, and we'll figure out what happens there, but you know, everything ends up having a way of working itself out I think."

This doesn't mean that Sean doesn't feel any less outraged by the whole situation, but it seems like the actor is taking a more positive stance on the matter. Hopefully, Marvel starts working on GOTG 3 soon.

The Guardians are set to appear in Avengers: Endgame which premieres on April 26, 2019.
