Sean Gunn Opens About Kraglin’s Fate After Avengers: Infinity War

Sean Gunn's Kraglin may have had a major role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but like supporting characters like Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie and Taika Waititi's Korg, the first mate Ravager's fate wasn't explicitly confirmed in Marvel's culminating movie, Avengers: Infinity War.

Though the younger brother of former Guardians director James Gunn won't confirm whether or not fans are going to see Kraglin again in the MCU, Sean does say in a new interview with Tulsa World that fans are going to learn more about the journey of Yondu's (Michael Rooker) first mate.

"I think I can say this: I don't think Kraglin's story is finished yet. I think the fans will, at least, get to know what happens with Kraglin, even though I can't share that right now," Gunn shared with the publication.

The actor also talks about working on Avengers 4, confirming that he shot footage for the second installment in Marvel's two-part Avengers movie.

"I can tell you that the movie is going to be really excellent," Sean admitted. "We shot them originally pretty much back-to-back with a short break ... and I like (Avengers 4) even more than Infinity War, at least from the script and from shooting it, and I was really happy with Infinity War. So I'm very hopeful that it's going to be a great movie."

Of course, while this might mean that Kraglin's going to be in the movie, there's also the possibility that the younger Gunn was simply working on parts for Rocket Racoon. After all, the actor also does serve as the stand-in for the fierce "triangle-faced monkey" in MCU movies from time to time. Or, directors Joe and Anthony Russo could be filming extra scenes with Kraglin that don't necessarily make it into the final cut. The two are known to film dummy scenes to keep fans from spoiling their projects.

Still, whatever the shoot turns out to be, we'll learn more about Kraglin in the future.

Avengers 4 hits cinemas May 3, 2019.
