The latest episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 6 certainly ended on a cliffhanger as Melinda May barges into Sarge's cell and shoots him. However, the new trailer for the last four episodes of the series that debuted at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con revealed that things aren't exactly what they seem.

The new trailer takes off immediately after May shoots Sarge and the Agents are understandably concerned about this mysterious man who looks so much like Phil Coulson. But they're not worried about him dying. The major concern is that this guy isn't and is actually growing stronger.
How strong is he? This is immediately displayed when May confronts Sarge and he hits a metal table and effectively dents it. Oh, but he's not just strong, either. He later attacks Daisy Johnson and disintegrates a metal door.
So the good news is, May didn't kill Sarge. The bad news is, he has superpowers and it looks like Izel has every intention to use him against the Agents. But will he turn against these people he doesn't even recall? At one point, he seemingly dares Daisy to kill him.
We don't know exactly what's happening here but everything should be explained in the last four episodes of Agents of SHIELD Season 6. Hopefully, Daisy and the rest of the team will figure out just how to deal with Sarge.
Agents of SHIELD Season 6 Episode 10 will air on ABC on July 19.
