As promised last week, WB has dropped the first teaser for the Scooby-Doo reboot Scoob!, and it teases the origin of Scooby and Shaggy's friendship as well as the formation of Mystery Inc.
Here's the official description:
The first full-length animated Scooby-Doo adventure for the big screen is the never-before-told stories of Scooby-Doo's origins and the greatest mystery in the career of Mystery Inc.
"SCOOB!" reveals how lifelong friends Scooby and Shaggy first met and how they joined with young detectives Fred, Velma, and Daphne to form the famous Mystery Inc. Now, with hundreds of cases solved and adventures shared, Scooby and the gang face their biggest, most challenging mystery ever: a plot to unleash the ghost dog Cerberus upon the world. As they race to stop this global "dogpocalypse," the gang discovers that Scooby has a secret legacy and an epic destiny greater than anyone imagined.
I can say the movie is cute enough, but I kind of wished that they asked Matthew Lillard to come back and voice Shaggy. No offense to Will Forte; I think he's a great actor on his own right, but he doesn't really get the same rasp in his voice the way Lillard does on the other Scooby shows.
Who we don't get to see him in the trailer, but we do know that Captain Caveman is going to be making an appearance. We also get confirmation of Dick Dastardly, Dynomutt, and a whole bunch of other Hanna-Barbera heroes that will be making appearances in the film.
Catch Scoob! when it comes out on May 15, 2020.
