In this sci-fi short film by Jason Whitmore, At the End, a nearby supernova spells doom for Earth, and an alien fleet offers a choice: humans can escape, but only if they agree to server as slaves in space. The themes of life and freedom remind me of Bong Jon-hoo's sci-fi, Snowpiercer. The film follows one couple who have to come to grips with what it will cost to survive.
The film splits its time between a present timeline and flashbacks as a couple of doctors, Madeline and Garrison, escape towards the last remaining ships that are evacuating humanity from Earth. You can read our review here.
