We already know that Natasha Romanoff was ultimately killed off in Avengers: Endgame. But what are the chances that Scarlett Johansson will return in yet another Marvel Cinematic Universe flick? The Black Widow star may have confirmed that her character's solo film isn't the last one for Nat.
Johansson was recently a guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert where she promoted her new film Marriage Story. However, the conversation still ended up turning to Black Widow and Colbert brought up a ridiculous theory about the MCU film being the last one for Johansson. The confused Johansson wasn't able to answer the question right away so Colbert pressed on the possibility that she would be back in more Marvel movies.
"I am so wound up right now, I don't know what to answer," Johansson said, adding that someone from Marvel might be hiding in the audience with a dart gun. Interestingly, her last statement may have teased on another future appearance.
"I'm afraid something's gonna slip and my palms are sweaty," Johansson said.
Of course, it's impossible for Nat to return after the events in Endgame. After all, her sacrifice was final and couldn't be changed in the current timeline. But then again, fans are still hoping that they haven't seen the last of Johansson's character. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
Marriage Story is currently streaming on Netflix. Black Widow will premiere on May 1, 2020.
