Sasha Banks Wanted to Recreate Oldboy Scene in THAT Mandalorian Cantina Moment

We may already be waiting for the sixth episode of The Mandalorian Season 2 but some still haven't moved on from Episode 4 where both Baby Yoda and Koska Reeves had a strange encounter with food that likes to fight back. Although we can't get Grogu's comment on his scene, Sasha Banks has opened up about the cantina scene and revealed that she actually wanted to recreate one of the most memorable moments in Oldboy.

Oldboy is a 2003 Korean film adaptation of the Japanese manga of the same name that follows a man who is kidnapped and kept in captivity for 15 years. Once he is released, Oh Dae-su walks into a sushi restaurant where he grabs a live octopus and starts eating it.

It's a shocking scene that had a lasting impact on Banks. When she spoke to The Hollywood Reporter, she confirmed that Koska was eating an octopus and she was excited when it was revealed she'd have a scene similar to that Oldboy moment.

"My favorite movie of all time is Oldboy, and there's a scene in that movie where Dae-su slurps an octopus. So when they told me, I was like, 'Oh my god, is it going to be real?' but they told me it wasn't," Banks said.

Interestingly, Banks admitted she would have eaten a live octopus for the scene but she was given something that wouldn't fight back.

"I was down to do it if they wanted me to, but it was a big and long udon noodle that I had to slurp," she said.

Although Banks didn't get to do her best Dae-su impression, she can still proudly say she is now part of the Star Wars Universe.

The next episode of The Mandalorian Season 2 will air on Disney+ on December 4.
