Sasha Banks Speculated as the Foil to Cara Dune in Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 2

Back in February, there were multiple reports running across the mill saying that WWE Raw Women's Champion Sasha Banks would be appearing in the second season of Star Wars: The Mandalorian. While many believed that the wrestler would be cast as the live-action version of Star Wars Rebels' Sabine Wren, there's been speculation that Banks may very well be cast as the foil to Gina Carano's tough-as-nails Star Wars: The Mandalorian shock trooper, Cara Dune.

The past few days, Banks and Carano have been having a bit of a bout on Twitter. While most wrestling fans would interpret the aggressive exchange between the Banks and Carano as typical wrestling banter, the Dork Side of the Force suggests that it could also be read as a sign of their on-screen relationship in the second season of The Mandalorian.

The exchange began when Carano tweeted a clip from the most recent episode of WWE Raw where WWE superstar Shayna Baszler had Sasha Banks clocked with a stiff right hand.

"And just like that I want to attend my first @WWEUniverse event," Carano wrote in her post, naming Bszler and Banks as two of her favorites.

Responding to the Tweet, Banks was eager to riff with The Mandalorian star, saying that she was looking forward to "whoop(ing) your ass too," teasing her that "you wouldn't last in my Universe but you're welcome to try."

Carano then posted a GIF comment of a little "Nope."

It's a cute exchange, and it's easy to see how some Star Wars fans would want to see this kind of banter in The Mandalorian. Let's wait and see whether Banks really does make it into the show and if she becomes a foil for Cara Dune.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian is available for streaming on Disney+.
