San Diego Comic-Con Confirms November 2021 Dates

It looks like there will be no stopping San Diego Comic-Con this year. The beloved convention has just announced that it is still moving forward and confirmed its new November 2021 dates.

It has already been revealed that San Diego Comic-Con 2021 is set for a virtual convention in July. However, an update on the organization's website confirmed that there will be an in-person event in November.

"As the timing and scope of our larger event factored greatly into our decision to postpone, we believe that launching a smaller in-person event at a later time may be a safe alternative. For this reason, we are happy to announce that San Diego Comic Convention is planning to present a three-day in-person convention in San Diego in November," the update reads.

The press release also confirmed that the smaller San Diego Comic-Con 2021 event will be held at the San Diego Convention Center over Thanksgiving weekend. This means that SDCC will be a shorter event this year, lasting from Friday, November 26 to Sunday, November 28.

This is interesting news considering that SDCC usually takes place during the summer. However, the organizers may have decided that it would be better to delay an in-person event. Although it could mean limited attendance for the convention, it's a way to slowly return to old times.

The same organization has just successfully held the virtual event Wonder-Con@Home from March 26 to 27. Hopefully, we'll get more similar events in the future.

What do you think of San Diego Comic-Con 2021 being held during Thanksgiving weekend instead of summer? Are you ready to attend an in-person convention? Sound off in the comments below.
