Sam Raimi Fans Argue Whether Spider-Man is a Thanksgiving Movie or Not

A day removed from Thanksgiving and I'm pretty sure most of you are still stuffed to the brim. Now, after your scrumptious Thanksgiving dinner, you may have capped off the occasion by watching your go-to movie, and apparently, a lot of fans tuned in to their television sets and streaming devices to rewatch Sam Raimi's original Spider-Man film from 2002.

You probably already know where I'm going here. Fans are now arguing whether the classic Marvel film is a Thanksgiving film or not. The debate began on Twitter after Phineas and Ferb voice actor Vincent Martella confidently claimed that the 2002 blockbuster is indeed a Thanksgiving flick.

Unsurprisingly, a lot of fans agreed with his take although some people find the debate quite absurd. Check out some of the reactions below:

In my view, I would say Spider-Man is an everyday kind of film but I can totally understand why it's referred to by a lot of people as a Thanksgiving movie because there's literally a scene where Peter Parker, Aunt May, Mary Jane Watson, Norman, and Harry Osborn are sharing a scrumptious Thanksgiving lunch. There's even a Macy's Parade kind of scene in the movie so it's quite obvious that it takes place around the holidays but whether you believe it's a Thanksgiving flick or not, I'll leave that one up to you.

Meanwhile, Sony has recently dismissed Tobey Maguire's involvement in the MCU's Spider-Man 3.
