Sam Neill Teases His Jurassic Park Return with Alan Grant's Fedora

While Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom had only brought back Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), the third movie in the franchise, Dominion, is looking to bring back franchise vets Laura Dern and Sam Neill as well. We don't have a look at Neill and Dern in the film yet, but Neill has teased the return of Grant's fedora from the first film.

Check it out:

Admittedly, Alan Grant's fedora in the first film had a whiter shade on it, but I guess you can expect it to get dirty what with all the running around from dinosaurs. Some people are also curious as to what the hat is sitting on, and it's been revealed to be an antique hat stretcher.

We don't know what exactly Alan Grant's role in the sequel will be, but I'm hoping that they find a way to bring him into the story in a more meaningful way. I wouldn't want the original cast taking over the movie from the new cast including Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. You would think director Colin Trevorrow would have learned something about relying too much on nostalgia with the way Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker came out.

For now, production is said to be ongoing for Jurassic World: Dominion. We don't know when it's expected to wrap, and with COVID-19 still going around, it's likely going to take more time than originally planned. Let's just hope that Trevorrow can end this franchise properly; it's funny how he turned out to be the J.J. Abrams of the Jurassic movies.

Jurassic World: Dominion is set for a release on June 11, 2021.
