Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan to Get a Game and Live-Action

As if the funny animated shorts are not enough, sci-fi comedy anime Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan (translated as The Disastrous Life of Saiki K) will also have a game and a live-action adaptation.

Bandai Namco has confirmed that the game will be titled Saiki Kusuo no Psi-nan Shijou Psi Dai no Psi-nan!? The developer has released a new trailer, seen below. Some of the characters, like Saiki, Nendou, Kaido and Teruhashi, are talking about what the game's genre and which powers they will be able to use.

Sadly, the trailer is not yet in English, but from the looks of it, protagonist Saiki has psychic powers to complete mission. The catch is you need to avoid stressing out Saiki or that can destroy the world.

Apart from the game, there will also be a live-action film adaptation, Anime News Network reported. However, there are no details yet as to who will play which characters.

I've been watching the Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan anime, and I must say, it has the same brand of comedy as Gintama. Probably because these comedy anime shows share some staff members.

The anime episodes don't even last five minutes. But if you like the unique comedy of character caricatures in funny situations, then this may be for you. Imagine ba-couple parents unthreatened by their son's powers, a high school student with an intense case of chuunibyou, and a protagonist who sees his gift as an annoyance. It's surprisingly really amusing.

Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan: Shijou Psi Dai no Psi-nan? will be out in Japan on the Nintendo 3DS sometime this year.

Synopsis:
Kusuo Saiki is a typical 16-year-old high school student… except he has psychic powers. He can use them to get whatever he wants, but he also knows everything that people are thinking. Everything. No surprises, no secrets, no normal human experiences. He's kept his powers in check since childhood, but with the temptations of high school now on his mind, he's bending the rules—and spoons.
