Sabikui Bisco Episode 1 Release Date

A new season of anime is here! Winter 2022 is filled with a bunch of new shows and also a couple of continuing ones. Ranging from adventure, romance, isekai, and more, there's surely a number of series that will cater to all types of anime fans!

One of the series included in the Winter 2022 lineup is Sabikui Bisco or Rust-Eater Bisco, an action-adventure series set in post-apocalyptic Japan. In the story, most of Japan turned into a deserted wasteland, following a disaster called Rusty Wind. Bisco Akaboshi is a criminal archer called Man-Eating Mushroom, but his crimes are actually just him trying to restore Japan back to its normal state. He goes on a journey with a doctor named Milo Nekoyanagi to find the sabikui, a mushroom known to eat rust. Check out the trailer for the anime below:

The series will be adapted by the studio OZ. The anime is an adaptation of a light novel of the same name, written by Shinji Cobkubo and illustrated by K Akagishi and mocha since March 2018. There is also a manga adaptation under Square Enix, which began serialization in April 2019. The first part is illustrated by Yusuke Takahashi, while the second part is illustrated by So Natsuki.

Atsushi Ikariya is directing the series while Sadayuki Murai handles the series composition. The cast includes Ryota Suzuki (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) as Bisco Akaboshi, Natsuki Hanae (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) as Milo Nekoyanagi, Kenjiro Tsuda (Jujutsu Kaisen) as Kurokawa, Miyu Tomita (Combatants Will Be Dispatched!) as Chiroru Ochagama, Reina Kondo (Dorohedoro) as Pau Nekoyanagi, and Shiro Saito (Kingdom) as Jabi.

Hinako Tsubakiyama and Takeshi Ueda are handling the music. The opening theme is called "Kaze no Oto sae Kikoenai" (Even the Wind is Silent) by JUNNA. The ending theme is performed by the series' protagonists, Bisco and Milo. The song is titled "Houkou" (Howl).
