Ryan Reynolds Would Have Loved to Watch Donald Glover's Animated Deadpool Series

Donald Glover has been having an outstanding career, having success in both TV and music industries. Fans were intrigued that he was developing an animated Deadpool series for FX, but were suddenly disappointed to see the project cancelled. Ryan Reynolds, who plays Deadpool on the big screen, takes time to comment on the show getting canned.

Talking to the New York Times, Reynolds called Glover a ‘genius' and said:

"I would've loved to have seen what he did with that."

We don't have any reasons to why the show was cancelled by FX, but reading the leaked script from Glover, I have a guess that his take on the character would be very different from what we see in the movies. There were even rumors going around that he would voice Deadpool himself.

After working on shows like Community and 30 Rock, Glover proved his mettle when he created, wrote, and starred in FX's Atlanta. The series gives a comedic (and sometimes tragic) look at the local rap scene in Atlanta, as well as a commentary on the social issues like racism and poverty.

It's also a great coincidence that Glover's co-star Zazie Beetz is starring in Deadpool 2 as the mutant Domino.

Though the animated Deadpool may be dead in the water, we do get to see the character come back to the big screen with Deadpool 2, out on May 18.
