It looks like The Fast and The Furious may have added another A-lister to the franchise. A new report states that Ryan Reynolds has been cast in Hobbs &Shaw.
The Fast and The Furious spin-off film already has some major stars attached including Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Idris Elba, and Helen Mirren. However, We Got This Covered reports that a source has revealed Reynolds will also appear in the highly anticipated action flick. The Pokemon: Detective Pikachu actor is said to play a CIA agent who recruits Johnson's Luke Hobbs to help him stop Elba's Brixton Lore.
It's unclear whether Reynolds will be playing a big role in the film considering that we have yet to see him in any of the Hobbs & Shaw trailers. Nevertheless, his appearance could be something to look forward to this August. In the meantime, it's best to take this with a grain of salt.
Interestingly, Reynolds isn't the only other A-lister rumored to play a key role in the Fast and Furious spin-off. It was previously reported that John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum star Keanu Reeves is expected to appear in the film and will be revealed as the true main villain.
Reeves will reportedly show up in the movie's post-credits scene as the real mastermind orchestrating Brixton's actions. Again, it's probably best to take this with a grain of salt.
Hobbs & Shaw is scheduled for release on August 2.
