Ryan Reynolds Reacts To Joker Defeating Deadpool As Highest Grossing R-Rated Movie

In case you missed it, Joker is officially the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time. This means that the Joaquin Phoenix movie has defeated Deadpool and Deadpool 2 so it's no surprise that Ryan Reynolds has something to say about being defeated.

Reynolds took to his official Instagram account to congratulate Joker for its new record. He also made sure to include all the other R-rated films that were defeated by the movie. Take a look at his post below.

In case you were wondering, the list includes Wade Wilson (for Deadpool 2 and the first movie), Neo (for The Matrix Reloaded), Pennywise (for It), Hugh Jackman (for Logan), Jesus (for The Passion of the Christ), the Wolfpack (for The Hangover Part II), Mr. Grey (for Fifty Shades of Grey) and Ted (for Ted, obviously).

Reynolds' post didn't go unnoticed. Joker director Todd Phillips left a comment on the post, "What a list. Respect."

Joker has raked in $788.1 million at the box office, defeated both Deadpool 2 (which grossed $785 million) and the 2016 film ($783 million). At this point, the Warner Bros. flick is expected to reach the $800 million mark within the next week.

The success of Joker has led to speculations that Warner Bros. is already planning a sequel that could bring back both Phoenix and Phillips. Although we love the idea, it's still unclear if a second film will be developed. Nevertheless, fans are hoping that this will happen soon.

Joker is currently screening in theaters worldwide.
