The Disney/Fox merger gave Marvel Studios the rights to both the X-Men and Fantastic Four characters, with fans clamoring to see Deadpool in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Well, as it turns out, the Merc with a Mouth himself, Ryan Reynolds, has been lobbying for his character to join the franchise as well.

In a new piece from EW, that talks about Fox's handling of the X-Men franchise, it was pointed out that Marvel Studio's summit earlier this year didn't include any plans for any X-Men film. When asked for a comment, Reynolds quips Marvel movies' lack of Deadpool, making a joke about his character as he references Martin Scorsese. "I agree with Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola that Marvel films suffer from an alarming lack of Deadpool," the actor said.

If you recall, both Scorsese and Coppola have been vocal about their thoughts on Marvel movies, claiming that they aren't exactly cinema. Of course, with Reynolds known for making jokes like these, he most likely used this comment to evade actually giving a serious answer on the matter.

As for when Deadpool will actually make his way to the MCU, it's still pretty much up in the air. Reynolds did reveal that he already had talks with the studio about his character's future. For now, though, it looks like Deadpool 3 isn't looking to be included in Marvel's jam-packed slate anytime soon.
