Ryan Reynolds Addresses Snyder Cut Rumors While Talking Trash About Green Lantern

Ryan Reynolds didn't exactly hit the "superhero landing" quite flawlessly on his first two tries with his appearances on X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Green Lantern being poorly received by both fans and critics. His involvement in 2016's Deadpool pretty much changed all that and it would become Reynolds' true ticket to superstardom and it almost feels like he's never looking back.

However, some fans are still hoping that he'll get to reprise his role as Hal Jordan and get the redemption he deserves. Several rumors have claimed that the Canadian actor will in fact return as Green Lantern in Zack Snyder's Justice League which wouldn't be too farfetched considering Ryan has been "hinting" about it for a number of months on Twitter.

But the Marvel actor seemingly had a change of heart and now, he's officially dismissing reports linking him to the Snyder Cut. In a new Twitter post, he claims that he's not appearing in the highly anticipated DC project and in true Ryan Reynolds fashion threw shade at GL's awful CGI costume.

Following Reynolds' "confirmation", insider Grace Randolph later tweeted out that GL won't be appearing in the 4-hour film, despite the fact that a Lantern easter egg was featured in Justice League's 2017 theatrical cut which led a lot of fans to believe that an appearance from the iconic DC character was being set up.

With the Green Lantern rumors seemingly laid to rest, it'll be interesting to see which character could end up appearing in the Snyder Cut. And although it's quite a bummer that we may never see Reynolds get his second chance at portraying Hal Jordan, I think it's for the better, and honestly, he's already doing so well over at Marvel as the fourth-wall-breaking antihero Deadpool.

Meanwhile, the Snyder Cut of Justice League hits HBO Max on March 18, 2021.
