She's played a demon, a femme-bot, a queen, and now she's going to be a truly powerful sorceress. Elizabeth Hurley has just been cast as Morgan le Fay in Marvel's Runaways Season 3.

Marvel announced that Hurley is officially joining the cast of Runaways where she will play the Arthurian sorceress who was once a student of Merlin. In the comic books, Morgan le Fay is the half-sister of King Arthur who also happens to be half-faerie, which makes her immortal. The villain has usually gone up against The Avengers but also served as a primary antagonist in the original Spider-Woman comics. Needless to say, Hurley shouldn't have any trouble playing such a great character.

Runaways executive producer and head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb expressed excitement over The Royals actress' casting.

"Elizabeth Hurley is joining the Marvel Universe and we couldn't be more thrilled to have her portraying one of the most enchanting Marvel characters," Loeb said.

So what does Morgan's introduction in the Hulu series mean? There are speculations that it might have something to do with Nico Minoru and the Staff of One. After all, Nico discovered some strange new powers in the second season that even her mother Tina Minoru couldn't explain. There is a huge possibility that Morgan could be connected to Nico and the mysterious Staff.

Marvel's Runaways Season 3 has not yet been given an official premiere date. However, the series is expected to return on Hulu later this year.
