Rumor: Marvel's Black Widow Film Could Begin Production In UK In June 2019

Marvel Studios could be moving forward with a new Phase 4 film next year. Interestingly, the first movie that is set to begin production might be Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow flick.

According to Omega Underground, the studio is currently setting plans to begin filming in the United Kingdom next year. Although the outlet has not confirmed which Phase 4 movie will be shot starting June 2019, there are speculations that Marvel is getting ready for the Black Widow movie.

Natasha Romanoff's standalone film certainly seems like the best possible candidate. Johansson has already signed on to reprise her role as the former Soviet spy and the film already has a director in Cate Shortland (Lore, Berlin Syndrome). In addition to that, Jac Schaeffer (TiMER) is already signed on to write the screenplay. It looks like everything is already in place for the Black Widow movie.

Things may look promising for a Marvel spy film but let's not rule out the other possibilities just yet. There's also a possibility that Doctor Strange 2 is the mystery flick that will begin production in the UK next year. Although there are no updates about the sequel, fans believe that Benedict Cumberbatch and director Scott Derrickson are getting ready to work on the new movie.

It has also been pointed out that The Eternals might be Marvel's next major project. However, screenwriters Matthew and Ryan Firpo (Ruin) could still be working on the script and the development of this particular movie could take some time.

Marvel has not yet confirmed whether Black Widow will begin production next year.
