Rose Tico Reappears In TROS Merchandise After Controversy

A lot of Star Wars fans were anticipating the merchandise to be released on Triple Force Friday, especially since most of the merch is going to be for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

But when the products were finally launched, fans can't help but notice Rose Tico's absence from the said merch. However, a recent tweet from one of the shirt companies says Rose would reappear after all!

Some shirt designs were teased prior to the release which included Rose's character on it. To the fans' surprise, the final products didn't include the character at all. The first one was a shirt that says Rebel on it, with Rose partially covering the letters "b" and "e." The other shirt was a Resistance Heroes-related one with Rose on the left along with the other characters.

A fan took to Twitter to ask Absolute Cult, the company that made the shirts, regarding the latter one's design, seeing that Rose wasn't included in the final product. You can see their exchange below:

The company is said to have featured the art from the Resistance Heroes book but went on to put the exact same art on the shirt but without Rose.

Absolute Cult responded to the fan in what appears to be an already deleted reply (via Comic Book), saying "We would never remove her - she wasn't included on that design asset from Disney when we first designed the shirt. Will look at addressing this asap if there is an updated asset... our Rose tee from The Last Jedi was one of our best sellers!"

The company then replied to the fan with a link that leads to the updated shirt design along with the caption, "There's Rose."

When Rian Johnson's The Last Jedi was released, Rose's character received a bit of a backlash resulting in Kelly Marie Tran leaving social media for a while. Regardless, some people grew fond of Tran's character, and fans are now anticipating what her role is for the upcoming movie The Rise of Skywalker.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres on Dec. 20.
