Rose Levels Up In Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

Lucasfilm might be trying its best to keep Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker under wraps, but somehow details about the highly anticipated Star Wars movie keep leaking out online.

Thanks to Star Wars advanced live-stream event showcasing the merchandise in this year's Triple Force Friday, Star Wars fans got to see two new Star Wars aliens that seem to play important roles in Episode IX. Today, character descriptions of the heroes and villains in The Rise of Skywalker have begun making the rounds online, and it looks like the leak reveals what kind of role Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran) will play in the film.

In Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Rose Tico started out as a Resistance mechanic. She helps Finn (John Boyega) find his resolve, and by the end of the movie she ends up risking her life to save the former Stormtrooper.

Now, thanks to the official character descriptions that SFX Magazine managed to find, we learn that Rose has actually risen up the ranks of the Resistance in The Rise of Skywalker.

"Rose has risen through the ranks from lowly engineering support crew to military commander," the description reads, "She leads the Engineering Corps in making the necessary modifications to keep the Resistance's gear operational, as well as countering new advancements in First Order technology."

It looks like Rose is going to do more than assist in Finn's character development. We're glad that the Resistance acknowledges Rose's talent and abilities. We can't wait to see her shine in The Rise of Skywalker.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
