Rogue One Star Alan Tudyk on Why He Loves The Star Wars Prequels


Earlier this week, Star Wars fans have been showering George Lucas' largely divisive Star Wars prequels with love and affection.

The prequels started trending on Twitter this week when one Star Wars fan decided to ask netizens to drop some of the things they love about the prequel trilogy. The post received thousands of replies and retweets, creating a viral trend on the social media site.

Taking notice of the post, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story actor Alan Tudyk decided to add to the growing list of replies by giving one of the major reasons that he loves the Star Wars prequels.

"They led to Rogue One," the Star Wars actor said in response.

That's one great way of looking at the prequels. Other Star Wars fans responding to the post have given more detailed responses, praising Lucas' prequel movies for their costume design, their intricate sets, and for the presence of fan-favorite characters like Darth Maul, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and of course, Anakin Skywalker who would eventually become Darth Vader.

There are a lot of different reasons to love the prequel films – Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, and of course, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.

Tudyk wasn't wrong when he said that he was glad that the prequels where there because they lead to Rogue One. The actor is set to reprise his role as K-2SO in Lucasfilm's upcoming Cassian Andor spinoff series set for release on Disney+.
