Robin Wright’s Amazonian General From Wonder Woman Confirmed For Justice League

Those who haven't had a chance to watch Wonder Woman yet better head on out – this article will discuss a few spoilers for the film.

Fans who've already seen Wonder Woman know how Robin Wright was as the General of the Amazonian Army in Patty Jenkin's DCEU debut. Not only did Antiope have incredible fight scenes in the well-received DC Extended Universe installment, she also had an endearing relationship with Gal Gadot's Diana, teaching the young Amazon how to fight despite her mother's apprehensions.

Though she gave away her life to save Diana on the battle on the beach, many fans felt disappointed that they had to lose Wright so early in the film. Luckily, it seems like DC may have plans to bring her back in Justice League.

Speaking in an interview with the LA Times, Gadot, Wright and co-star Connie Nielsen were made to discuss the different relationships in Wonder Woman and either by accident or by design, Nielsen slips in saying that her character Hippolyta would appear along with her sister Antiope in Justice League.

Gadot: Of course; the mother and daughter relationship is always a beautiful but complex relationship. I think that there's a lot more to explore.

Nielsen: And [Wright and I] got to do more in "Justice League" as well. As sisters as well. Kind of badass as well. We can't say much, but …

Wright: And more of the story, you get some of the history.

This is pretty big news – though fans would want to see more of Antiope in the DCEU, her death which served as one of the catalysts for Diana to run off and try to stop World War I by ending Ares' "wrath upon this world" would become less impactful if DC brought her back to life.

While it's likely the studio may try to bring Antiope back through flashbacks, the studio could also try to trick fans into thinking that they're planning on reviving the Amazonian General. Either way, we'll have to wait and see.

Wonder Woman is currently screening in cinemas while Justice League hits the big screen on November 17.
