Robert Pattinson Reportedly Returning as Batman in Upcoming Spinoff

Following the success of The Batman last year, Matt Reeves and his team are now prepping for the HBO Max spinoff series The Penguin which will focus on Colin Farrell's Oswald Cobblepot following the events of the first film. They are also working on the sequel that is slated for release in theaters in 2025.

For the past few months, we've been hearing several updates about the series as they are in pre-production. With most of the plot details being kept under wraps, there are also questions regarding how they will connect with the overall universe and the characters that we met in the first film.

Most importantly, a lot of fans are wondering whether Robert Pattinson will show up in the series in order to connect it with the films and establish his placement as the hero of Gotham City as Oswald goes on his own journey in the series.

Now, it looks like we have the answer as reporter Jeff Sneider revealed recently in The Hot Mic podcast that Pattinson is set to make an appearance in The Penguin. However, he didn't provide any details about whether he will show up as Bruce Wayne or Batman and how many episodes will he appear in.

So far, Warner Bros. and HBO Max have not confirmed this information so we may have to take it with a grain of salt although there is a chance that we will not get any confirmation, especially if they decide to keep it as a surprise to the viewers even though the information is already out there.

Besides Farrell, the cast also includes Cristin Milioti, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Deirdre O'Connell, and Rhenzy Feliz. Lauren LeFranc serves as the main showrunner of the series. Reeves is also involved as one of the executive producers.

It is exciting to hear that Pattinson is likely going to show up in the series since it will mark his return in the role before the sequel and it is certainly a great treat for viewers. If he does end up appearing, it is curious to see how he'll play into the story of the series.
