Chris Hemsworth, the charismatic Australian actor known for portraying Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has officially received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The event was marked by celebration and a hilarious roast led by his longtime friend and Avengers co-star, Robert Downey Jr.
Downey Jr. took the opportunity to gather some witty remarks from their Marvel buddies, including Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, and Chris Evans, who couldn't attend the ceremony but sent their best wishes through Downey Jr.
Avengers Cast Roasts Chris Hemsworth
“What is Chris Hemsworth?” Downey Jr. asked the crowd as he shared the funny three-word answers he received from the other Avengers cast members. Many of their responses referenced their work with Hemsworth during Avengers and other inside jokes.
Renner says, “Absurdly, annoyingly amazing.” Ruffalo came in strong with “friend from work.” Scarlett got to the heart of it with a “sensitive leading lady.”

Downey Jr. Also Praised Hemsworth
While the roasts were all in good fun, Downey Jr. shifted to a more serious tone to honour his friend. He praised Hemsworth for his “contagious Aussie charm” and acknowledged him as a “remarkable human being” and a “legend.”
“I wrote all of my comments myself, which is why they are going to be quite insightful and brilliant,” Downey said during the ceremony, “Beyond the cape and the hammer is a contagious Aussie charm. You are a remarkable human being. You are a legend.”
Downey Jr. also expressed his excitement for Hemsworth's upcoming movie, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, predicting that the movie would be the film of 2024.
Chris Hemsworth’s Finally Receiving a Star
Hemsworth’s star unveiling came just a day before the release of his latest film, George Miller’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.
Chris shared with Variety about a mix-up in 2019, when he mistakenly thought he was receiving his star during a handprint ceremony with the Avengers cast at the TCL Chinese Theater.
“I thought that was the Walk of Fame! So when we did it, I thought, ‘Oh cool, I’m getting a star.’” Hemsworth recalled. “And someone told me, ‘No, that’s not what this is.’ I went along with it like I completely knew what was happening. It was kind of afterwards, I was like, ‘So, where’s the star?’”

This time, Hemsworth truly got his moment of recognition. Dressed in a sleek navy suit with the top buttons of his white shirt undone, he flashed his megawatt smile for the cameras.
The ceremony was made even more special when he leaned over and planted a sweet kiss on his wife, Elsa Pataky, who looked stunning in her white satin ensemble with black lace trim.
The event, filled with laughter and heartfelt tributes, perfectly encapsulated the charm and charisma that Hemsworth brings both on and off the screen.
