Following Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox, Marvel fans have been excited to see what Marvel Studios is planning for the Merc with a Mouth's future in the MCU. Ryan Reynolds already confirmed that the third movie is in development, but Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld seemingly isn't optimistic about it and slams Kevin Feige, the studio's president, as well.

In a recent interview with Inverse, Liefeld has called out Feige for not including Deadpool 3 in the MCU's Phase 4 and it looks like the movie might be in trouble. "You know, I don't know," he admitted. "Here's what people don't want to hear, but thank God I'm a realist, I feel like Deadpool, the movies, they've set sail."

Liefeld pointed out that the first and second Deadpool movies were released within two years of each other, so people ought to "chill out." "I'm not really that crazy about Marvel's plan right now," he added.

He proceeded to question Feige's plans for Phase 4 as well. "It's the first time I go, ‘Hey, Feige, did you even have a plan? Your plan was Eternals and Shang-Chi? That was your plan? And Black Widow?'" Leifeld said. He says the studio closed the door for characters such as Captain America and Iron Man, with the actors saying goodbye, along with Black Widow's death and almost losing Spider-Man actor Tom Holland to Sony, sarcastically saying that Marvel is a "genius."

If production for Deadpool 3 were to be started today, Liefeld says it would come out in four years and admits that he "can't be excited about that." He also admitted that he "can't gloss it up" because apparently, there are "zero" plans for Deadpool right now. "So enjoy the movies. Do what I do," he added. "I set myself up for all the haters... I'm living in the past, man. I'm just living in the past."

The two previous Deadpool movies were a success but based on Liefeld's comments, it seems like the third film isn't a priority at Marvel Studios.
