Fans of R.L. Stine's Goosebumps are surely in for a treat with a new live-action series based on the popular horror book series in the works!

Deadline reports that the series will come from movie producer Neal H. Moritz and Sony Pictures Television, who are teaming up with Scholastic Entertainment to bring these spooky stories to life.

"Goosebumps has been keeping kids and families on the edge of their seats for nearly 30 years," Iole Lucchese, Scholastic Entertainment President and Chief Strategy Officer, stated in the announcement. "And we're very excited to partner with Sony Pictures Television and Neal H. Moritz to bring the enduring brand to life in a fresh new way for today's generation."

The series will be executive produced by Lucchese, along with Moritz, Caitlin Friedman, Scholastic's SVP and General Manager, and Originals Head of Television, Pavan Shetty. That said, it's currently unclear whether author R.L. Stine is involved with the new series.

"I loved making the Goosebumps movies and can't wait to bring even more of R. L. Stine's incredible stories to life through a high-end television series that speaks to both adults and kids alike," Moritz added.

As most fans of the book series may well know, this isn't the first time Goosebumps made its way to television. A series was produced in Canada and aired on Fox Kids 25 years ago, and two feature films, starring Jack Black, were released as well, back in 2015 and 2018.
