The death of George Floyd was the straw that broke the camel's back for many in the United States as mass protests have been rampant in the country, despite COVID-19 still being a big problem around the world. Even major companies and celebrities have spoken up about this, with Marvel Studios and Star Wars, among others, standing with the black community. Cole Sprouse, who many know as Jughead from Riverdale, actually got arrested while participating in a protest.
Sprouse revealed the news on his Instagram, though he prefers that we don't make his arrest an issue since the actor feels that Black Lives Matter should be the talking point. He makes a fairly valid argument and it's good to see him unafraid to fight for the rights of others, though we are personally glad that the policemen didn't hurt him. Then again, he's white so that's probably why he ended up being fine.
We doubt that he will be facing any punishment from The CW since most of the voices in Hollywood have been very pro-Black Lives Matter, as should most people. It's good to see someone in Cole Sprouse's position actually speak out since it could inspire anyone to do so, whether they be a celebrity or a normie like you and me.
Do your best to protest peacefully about Black Lives Matter and be kind to others. Riverdale Season 5 doesn't have a release date yet since production was stopped due to COVID-19.
