Riverdale Season 7 is now in the works. A behind-the-scenes photo marks the beginning of the final season’s filming.

The people of Riverdale have successfully escaped Percival Pickens’ (Chris O’Shea) evil plan to annihilate the town by bringing a comet down to hit the city, thanks to Veronica (Camila Mendes) and Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch). However, the event’s aftermath takes them to the 1950s era in Riverdale Season 7, with only Jughead (Cole Sprouse) having the memory of what happened.

The Start of Riverdale Season 7 Filming

The show’s writer, Ted Sulivan, confirmed the new season is already underway by sharing a glimpse of what’s happening behind the scenes.

"Can’t believe we’re actually here,” he wrote in a post on Instagram with a photo of a clapperboard with the show’s title. “But such a great season is coming. Can’t wait for you all to see."

Riverdale Season 7 Episode 1 Teaser

Meanwhile, creator and showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa gave fans a glimpse of the Riverdale Season 7 Episode 1 script, revealing the title as “Don’t Worry, Darling.”

This seems a nod to Olivia Wilde’s controversial movie with the same name—the only difference is the comma.

Anyhow, the show has been known for referencing famous movies and shows, like The Queen’s Gambit, Death at a Funeral, and American Psycho the Musical by Aguirre-Sacasa himself.

There are no words yet for when Riverdale Season 7 will be out, but it’s expected to come in mid-season 2023 on Netflix.
