Rhea Seehorn teases an "insane" Pluribus Season 2 as the new season is set to begin production in Albuquerque this week.

Despite the delay, with the writers’ room only beginning work on the second season after the first season finale aired, even though it was greenlit early, the lead star has finally gotten her hands on the script.

Although she has read only the first script, Seehorn couldn’t help but share her excitement about what’s to come.

Back in September, creator Vince Gilligan admitted that Pluribus Season 2 “is not technically all written,” despite Apple TV’s back-to-back two-season order.

However, at the time, he also revealed that the “first and second” episodes were already written, and Rhea Seehorn has now shared her reaction to the first episode’s script.

"I just have the first script. That's all I have, and it's insane,” she told ScreenRant. “I was texting Vince [Gilligan] about it by page 3. I was like, 'What is happening?'"

Owen Wilson, whom Seehorn works with in Stick Season 2, chimed in, suggesting that the Better Call Saul star’s tease already gave away a lot about the upcoming season.

"In a way, I feel like that's telling a lot,” he said. “I understand that it's insane. You know that, by the first episode, it's not going to be okay!"

Seehorn, however, couldn't help but reiterate just how “insane” the second season would be.

"It's insane,” she continued. “'Let's just ease back in.' Every page, I was like, 'What is happening?' So, I'm excited."

Premiering in December 2025, Pluribus introduced viewers to novelist Carol Sturka (Rhea Seehorn).

Amid the spread of an alien virus that transformed the rest of humanity into a peaceful and content hive mind, Carol became one of the immune individuals targeted by the Others.

The first season ended with Carol finally realizing the truth about what was happening. She also came to understand that Zosia (Karolina Wydra) could no longer be her potential life partner, especially after Zosia revealed that Carol had only a month to use her frozen eggs to harvest stem cells that could turn her into one of the Others.

After leaving the paradise she had built with Zosia, Carol returned to her hometown of Albuquerque to meet Manousos (Carlos-Manuel Vesga), who had been trying to solve the mystery of the virus by using various radio frequencies to crack a code.

In Pluribus Season 2, fans may see Carol and Manousos working together, using radio signals to uncover the origins of the virus and determine how to stop it.

"An experiment within the scientific method, generally, moves through failure, and it keeps moving through failure,” writer and executive producer Gordon Smith told The Hollywood Reporter. “You learn more from saying, 'That's not right. It did not stop them from being joined, but I did learn something. So what did I learn?' What he learned and what he can do with it is hopefully going to be brought out in season 2."

As Pluribus Season 2 begins production, the new episodes are expected to arrive in late fall 2027 or early winter 2028. The first season is available to stream on Apple TV.
