Rey's Star Wars TFA Vision Hinted At Another Jedi Temple

There is little doubt that Rey's vision in Star Wars: The Force Awakens hinted at the future of the current trilogy. However, it also suggested that Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren may have destroyed another Jedi Temple in the past.

In The Force Awakens, Rey came across Luke Skywalker's lightsaber in Maz Kanata's cantina in Takodana. She immediately had a vision of things that happened in the past. She saw how she was abandoned as a child, Luke Skywalker and R2-D2 brooding in Ahch-To as well as Kylo and the Knights of Ren surrounded by several corpses.

It's easy to assume that the Knights of Ren scene took place in Ahch-To since the former Ben Solo had destroyed Luke's Jedi Academy. However, ScreenRant points out that the ruined temple might not be the same one in Ahch-To.

The report points out that the structure in Rey's vision doesn't fit with the temple featured in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The structure in TFA appears to be between two smaller spires while Luke's temple didn't have the same features. This has led to speculations that the Jedi temple in the vision was a completely different one.

It's a logical theory since the vision also showed Luke's scene as being different from the Knights of Ren scene. For example, it isn't raining in Luke's sequence. Although it would be interesting to see if Kylo had gone off to "execute Order 66" all over again, some are still skeptical about what truly appeared in The Force Awakens. We would recommend taking this one with a grain of salt.

The truth might be revealed in Star Wars: Episode IX, which premieres on December 20, 2019.
