The Golden Joystick Awards 2021 ceremony recently concluded and the hit video game Resident Evil Village has bagged four awards this year, including Ultimate Game of the Year, Best Audio, and PlayStation Game of the Year. The Best Performer Award was given to Maggie Robertson for her awesome portrayal of Lady Dimitrescu.
Many people think it’s a well-deserved win and the game is still being sought after on various gaming platforms. The Golden Joystick Awards began in 1983 and the winners are decided based on the number of public votes.
Other winners in the Golden Joystick Awards include CAPCOM for Studio of the Year. The game Final Fantasy XIV won two awards: the Best Game Community and the Still Playing Award. Sony’s latest gaming console, the PlayStation 5, won the award for Best Gaming Hardware. Dark Souls bagged the Ultimate Game of All Time award, Metroid Dead won the Nintendo Game of the Year, and The Most Wanted Game award was given to Elden Ring.
Resident Evil Village was released on May 7, 2021, for the following platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Stadia, Xbox One, and the Xbox Series X/S. The game is the sequel to the hit game Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, which was released in 2017. You play the character Ethen Winters who is on a mission to save his daughter after meeting with Chris Redfield. His search ends him up in a village that is inhabited by mutant creatures. Resident Evil Village kept the survival horror elements that the franchise was known for, but this time it is more action-oriented compared to the previous game.
It’s no question as to why the game received so many positive reviews from both gamers and critics alike. As of this time, there is still no word if there is another Resident Evil game sequel in the works, but we got to say Resident Evil Village is one fantastic game to really get into. Congratulations to all the winners!
