Resident Evil 2 and 3 Remake have proven to be a success for Capcom, with rumors of the company working on a Resident Evil 4 Remake also making the headlines. While most fans would prefer a Code Veronica or Outbreak Remake, others want to stop revisiting the past so that we can finally head to the future with Resident Evil 8. Frankly, a lot of details for the new game have surfaced online and are hard to believe but a trusted insider has given us some vague hope.
According to Dusk Golem, Resident Evil 8 will supposedly be "by far the darkest and most gruesome Resident Evil yet," which is saying A LOT. This game series might be a bit silly and wacky for some but there's no denying that the series has had its fair share of gruesome moments. Hopefully, this iteration lives up to the franchise since it's had a lot of momentum since the release of the remakes.
There have been several rumors about Resident Evil 8 keeping the first-person camera that Resident Evil 7 first introduced. Considering how fans have been enjoying the return to third-person cameras during the remakes, reactions to its first-person camera are going to be interesting. Then again, Resident Evil 7 was critically praised so maybe 8 will be too.
Resident Evil 8 doesn't have a release date and hasn't even been officially announced. Expect it for the PS5 and Xbox Series X.
