Resident Evil 3 Remake Coming Soon?

January 2019 is just around the corner and while most of us will be thinking about the New Year's resolutions we weren't able to keep, some of us will ease that pain away with Capcom's Resident Evil 2 remake. The game is highly anticipated since it combines the great controls from Resident Evil 4 while keeping the atmosphere, story, and characters from the PSOne classic.

Of course, this has fans wondering what's next from Capcom after this blockbuster release. There will be costume DLC of course, this is Capcom after all, but no one knows what the franchise's future will be like afterward. According to a rumor in ResetEra, it looks like we will be getting a remake of Resident Evil 3, which many see as one of the more underrated titles in the franchise.

DuskGolem, the ResetEra user who started the rumor, has gotten a few Resident Evil rumors right before, so this could be exciting news for those that are fans of the game. While many see Resident Evil 2 as one of the series' best games, Resident Evil 3 was a solid continuation of the story and even introduced Nemesis to the franchise's mythos.

The news is both surprising and unsurprising at the same time as fans of Capcom know that the studio love cranking out remastered versions of their classic games. In 2018 alone we had retro collections for Street Fighter and Mega Man X for modern consoles, which no one will complain about. Thankfully, they've also updated these franchises with new entries like Mega Man 11.

Resident Evil 2 comes out on January 25, 2019.
