With a release date set for February, a lot of people are waiting on the first teaser for Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). Reshoots had been undergoing until recently, as news has just dropped that production has finally wrapped on them.

This comes from @bopipdates on Twitter:

We don't know exactly what they reshot for the film, but a rumor was going around that they were trying to tone down the pedophilia in the movie—which I think was supposed to be part of Black Mask's (Ewan McGregor) character.

If anything, I would have actually liked to have the DCEU's version of Black Mask be a pedophile. It makes the character extra despicable and adds another layer of vicious to his sadistic nature—which would make him a whole new type of villain for DC. I mean, if the movie is going for an R-rating, may as well embrace it, right?

Of course, this is just a rumor. Reshoots are normal when it comes to big-budget films like this one. If anything, it shouldn't be as bad as what happened with X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

After splitting with the Joker, Harley Quinn joins superheroes Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya to save a young girl from an evil crime lord, Black Mask in Gotham City.

Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) hits theaters this coming Feb. 7, 2020.
