Birds of Prey Reportedly Undergoing Major Reshoots To Take Out Pedophilia Element

There might be a bit of excitement building up over DC's upcoming Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) but there's a new rumor spreading around that the project is undergoing some pretty costly emergency reshoots.

According to a report by Cosmic Book News, word on the street says that DC is making Birds of Prey undergo massive reshoots so that Warner Brothers can remove that rumored pedophilia storyline being placed in the film.

Earlier this year there were rumors saying that the film would include a flamboyantly gay Black Mask (Ewan McGregor) who would try to capture and murder teenage Cassandra Cain (Elle Basco) after the young DC heroine swallowed pictures of his genitalia inside a diamond. Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn, Mary Elizabeth Winstead's Huntress and Jurnee Smollett-Bell's Black Canary then decide to come together to help save the young Cassandra Cain.

Now, Warner Brothers is allegedly taking out the pedophilia aspect of the film. Rumors being spread by movie reviewer Grace Randolph compare the reshoots with the phenomenally expensive reshoots for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

"Some #BirdsOfPrey stans are ca-razy. I just heard again TODAY from another source that it's a Rogue One situation and the movie is getting a huge overhaul. Thank goodness we were able to warn WB of the travesty of the d*ck pics... #CrisisAverted Long live the #DCEU!" Randolph wrote in her post.

The movie reviewer also claims that DC is trying to overhaul a part of the film described as a "direct ripoff of Deadpool," so the reshoots must be pretty extensive if proven to be true. Hopefully, it doesn't hurt the film.

Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)is set for release on February 7, 2020.
