What Happened Before Rent-A-Girlfriend Season 2 Episode 2?
In Rent-A-Girlfriend Season 2 Episode 1, Dream and Girlfriend, Kazuya is still upset with Chizuru for quitting the rent-a-girlfriend app because she landed a main starring role in an upcoming theater play.
He worries about what his grandmother would say if she learns about them breaking up. It would upset her, he thought. Chizuru made his grandmother believe that they are, indeed, together.
For Kazuya to confirm that Chizuru is finally leaving him as his rental girlfriend, he decides to watch her theater show which would determine what will happen to their relationship, nervous about what the outcome will be.
When the play starts, he sees Chizuru star as a Shinobi. Within two to three jokes, Chizuru makes everyone watching laugh and Kazuya realizes that she is not so bad as an actress.
Kazuya even cries when the Shinobi character of Chizuru dies at the end of the show.
Kazuya and Chizuru run into each other outside the theater and she realizes that Kazuya watched the play. Kazuya congratulates her and he is sure that she will be landing the role she wants to play. However, Chizuru reveals otherwise.
It turns out Chizuru’s dream role is given to another actress who has known the scouting director for quite some time, one who uses her connections to get in.
After losing the role, Chizuru thinks that she should quit acting as she feels she doesn’t make the cut with the talents she has.
Kazuya tells Chizuru that he will be continuing to have her as his rental girlfriend so that she can have the money to continue doing what she loves and what she dreams of, being an actress. He also tells her not to give up on herself just because of a certain role she didn’t land.
