Netflix introduced an eight-part episode series that depicts marriage as a union of love and contract of ambition through Remarriage and Desires.
The Kdrama stars Kim Hee Sun, Lee Hyun Wook, Jung Eugene, Park Hoon, and Cha Ji Yeon as main characters.
Helmed by Love Affairs in the Afternoon and Secret Royal Inspector, Remarriage and Desires follows the story of a woman who longs for revenge after her family fallout in unexpected chaos because of a woman.
Remarriage and Desires Episode 1
The pilot episode delivered a surprising twist as the drama introduced the characters.
The first scene hints at where the story will revolve. Kang Nam Sik was standing at the edge of the building, harboring mixed emotions. However, as he looked at the city lights, the scene featured a female’s hand pushing him off the building.
Episode 1 also illustrates how Seo Hye Seung’s life drastically changed after the death of her husband.
A prosecutor and policemen came to their home to seize the house and other valuable items.
Complying with the officer’s instructions, she checked the trunk of her husband’s car and saw a golf ball with the initials of Kang Nam Sik and his mistress.

The Affair
Netflix’s Remarriage and Desire also illustrate Seo Hye Seung’s simple life. She works as a high school teacher, and despite working at the school for about a year, her students seemed to love her.
The series showcases how dedicated Seo Hye Seung is as a wife and a mother to their teenage daughter.
On the other hand, his husband, Kang Nam Sik does the opposite. After being promoted as a director of their company, he was affiliated with influential people who are fond of doing secret activities.
In one scene, Kang Nam Sik and his colleagues visit a place called Rex. It is an elite matchmaking company that only caters to the wealthiest high-class individuals.
On the other hand, a woman named Jin Yoo Hee, a lawyer, introduced herself to Rex’s CEO, Choi Yoo Sun.
Remarriage and Desire depict Jin Yoo Hee’s character as someone who uses influential men to her advantage.
Here, Kang Nam Sik became her latest target, ending their romance with an illicit affair.
Thinking that it was genuine love between him and his new lover, Kang Nam Sik decides to leave Seo Hye Seung, asking her for a divorce.
However, little did he know that this would be the start of his nightmare.
Kang Nam Sik Framed by Jin Yoo Hee
In Remarriage and Desires episode 1, Kang Nam Sik witnessed how his life was shattered because of one wrong decision.
After having a transaction and forbidden relationship with Jin Yoo Hee, he was summoned by his company for embezzlement of funds. In addition, Jin Yoo Hee told the higher-ups that she was raped by Kang Nam Sik.
She also told this to his wife, and Seo Hye Seung was disgusted by her husband, prompting her to officially sign the divorce.
However, after getting a phone call from her husband and sensing his regret, she rushed to his office.
Unfortunately, just when she was about to reach the door, she witnessed a suicide and was surprised that it was his husband who fell from the rooftop.
Seo Hye Seung Meets Jin Yoo He
In the pilot episode, Seo Hye Seung’s mom was determined to have her daughter back in the dating game again and sought the help of Rex.
However, upon learning the amount of the membership fee, Seo Hye Seung went to the company to ask for a refund.
Interestingly, instead of a refund, he heard a familiar name, and it turned out to be Jin Yoo Hee.
Tension rose as Seo Hye Seung, and Jin Yoo Hee came face to face inside Rex.
