Red Heart finally completed everything it needed before its premiere.
Reports about the KBS 2TV’s new drama started as early as November 2021. At that time, KBS revealed that Lee Joon, Kang Han Na, and Jang Yeon would be part of the historical drama as their interaction would make a massive contribution to its storyline.
How to Buy a Friend and Manhole director Yoo Young Eun serves as the showrunner, while Marry Me Now and First Love Again writer Park Pil Joo writes the script.
Before its arrival, the four lead members shared more details about their characters and what people should expect from them.

Red Heart Cast Members Describe Their Characters
Red Heart is about a political romance between a king – who abandons the woman he loves to survive – and a woman – who needs to become queen to survive.
In a new sneak peek released by the network, Lee Joon, Kang Han Na, Jang Hyuk, and Park Ji Yeon talked about their characters.
According to Lee Joon, he is looking forward to seeing their drama soon, with Kang Han Na adding that the story of the drama has a lot of fun and strength to offer.
For Park Ji Yeon, meanwhile, each character’s purpose is presented and defined.

“He’s the king. He’s the king, but he’s a character who dreams of getting revenge against his family. I thought of him as two-faced. That’s why I thought [my character] was a bit more three-dimensional. I thought I could showcase a wide variety of images, so I was drawn to this project,” Lee Joon said about his character, Lee Tae.
Meanwhile, Kang Han Na said that her character is not like the other females during the Joseon Dynasty. Instead, Yoo Jung is carefree and self-directed in the series.
Jang Hyuk described Park Gye Won as a calm character who made him become frigid yet laidback in the project. Park Ji Yeon’s Choi Ga Yeon is reportedly a charming but pitiful girl who might be the most unpredictable character.
What Fans Should Expect From the Drama
As the viewers already know some of the characters, the cast members also shared what they should expect from the series.
During the script reading, Lee Joon and Kang Han Na both said that they are excited to see what the new historical drama would provide. Although they did not share further details about it, Park Ji Yeon said Red Heart will draw viewers in with every episode.
Red Heart will air after the final episode of Crazy Love.
