It’s been over a year since the first season, and finally, Record of Ragnarok Season 2 is about to release on Netflix. And to further hype up the show, Netflix released a new Record of Ragnarok Season 2 trailer and announced the show’s main English dub cast.

Previously, Netflix shared the unusual episode count of the series, as well as the split release schedule.

While the first set of episodes will be released later this week, the final set has no set release date yet.

Netflix has been beefing up its anime content over the past couple of years.

Aside from simply acquiring the rights to stream other shows, the streaming giant has also been producing lots of original anime titles.

One of these is Record of Ragnarok, which is considered a Netflix original given that it is licensed by the platform.

However, it is not a proper original anime as it is based on the manga of the same name that’s serialized in Monthly Comic Zenon.

The seinen anime’s first season was released on Netflix in June 2021. In typical Netflix fashion, all 12 episodes of Season 1 were released on the same day. This is reminiscent of the release strategy for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean.

While the anime got a mixed reception from fans due to the animation quality, it was successful enough to be renewed for a second season.

Though animation duties for this new season have been transferred to Yumeta Company.

Shortly after releasing the new trailer, Netflix shared the new members of the show’s English voice cast, including:

  • George Newbern (Sephiroth in Advent Children) as Hercules
  • Jeff Leach as Jack the Ripper
  • Ryan Colt Levy (Denji in Chainsaw Man) as Loki
  • SungWon Cho (Richard Altner in 86) as Kajinosuke Tanikaze
  • Tony Curran as Arthur Conan Doyle and Jack Smith
  • Kari Wahlgren (Saber in Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works) as Hlökk
  • Victoria Atkin as Mary
  • David Errigo Jr. (Kouki Furihata in Kuroko's Basketball) as Jack the Ripper (Young)
  • Noshir Dahal as Indr and Brahma

As for the Japanese dub, the show features Tomokazu Sugita as Jack the Ripper, Katsuyuki Konishi as Heracles, Subaru Kimura as Raiden Tameemon, and Yuichi Nakamura as Buddha.

Meanwhile, the returning characters from Season 1 are also voiced by the same voice actors for this new season.

Record of Ragnarok Season 2's first 10 episodes will be released on Netflix on January 26, 2023. The last five episodes will then be streamed later this year.
