Real-Life Squid Game Set Built by MrBeast

YouTube star MrBeast is recreating the deadly children's games featured in Netflix's hit Squid Game, and he has recently showed off the set he had built for his crazy project.

For the past few weeks, the popular content creator has been hyping up his plan to make a real-life version of Squid Game (minus the killing, of course). On Twitter, the YouTuber, who's famous for his large-scale and expensive projects, has shared some photos of the massive sets that will look familiar to those who have watched the most-viewed Netflix original series ever.

456 contestants will enter the Squid Game-inspired sets you see in the photos embedded below, which show sets for Red Light, Green Light, the playground where the contestants played the dalgona game, and the iconic set where contestants were forced to play the heartbreaking marbles game in pairs.

As for the possibility of a sequel for the actual Squid Game, writer/director Hwang Dong-hyuk talked to Variety about his plans for Season 2. "I don't have well-developed plans for 'Squid Game 2," he told Variety. "It is quite tiring just thinking about it. But if I were to do it, I would certainly not do it alone. I'd consider using a writers' room and would want multiple experienced directors."

"I freely admit that I've had great inspiration from Japanese comics and animation over the years," Hwang added. "When I started, I was in financial straits myself and spent much time in cafes reading comics including 'Battle Royale' and 'Liar Game.' I came to wonder how I'd feel if I took part in the games myself. But I found the games too complex, and for my own work focused instead on using kids' games."

Squid Game already surpassed Bridgerton to become Netflix's most-viewed series ever, topping the streamer's charts in most countries. Thanks to its massive success, it's likely that the streaming giant will renew the South Korean series for a second season.
