As promised yesterday, Netflix has dropped the main trailer for The Witcher, and Henry Cavill looks absolutely stunning as Geralt of Rivia. What's more, we also get a release date for the series.

The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.

As per the trailer, we now know that The Witcher comes out on December 20. After months of speculation, I think Netflix has found a great release window for the show. With The Mandalorian being the big thing for November, I'm sure everyone will be eager to binge Witcher by the time it comes out on the 20th. Heck, people can probably get right to it after they watch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker which comes out on the same day.

I have to say, the trailer looks absolutely stunning. Besides Cavill absolutely commanding every scene that he's in, it looks like Netflix hasn't held back when it came to the budget. The war scenes look impressive, and there are just so many places that the show looks to be visiting.

Of course, I'm just being optimistic. We'll just have to wait and see how everything turns out eventually.

Catch The Witcher when it hits Netflix on Dec. 20.
