Ray Fisher Says He Won't Reprise Cyborg Role Unless Walter Hamada Apologizes to Him

It seems like there's no end in sight when it comes to Ray Fisher's issues with WB and DC Films and it's a shame that he never got the solo Cyborg film he was once promised considering his stellar performance in Zack Snyder's Justice League. As it stands, Fisher's status in the DC Extended Universe still remains a huge mystery and by the looks of it, it's safe to assume that we're not going to see him back in the franchise anytime soon thanks to his highly-publicized rift with Walter Hamada and Geoff Johns.

Now, a few months removed from the release of the Snyder Cut, Fisher is still hell-bent on making the people responsible for turning his first rodeo in the DCEU into an awful experience pay. During his recent appearance at the MEGACON in Orlando (via ComicBook), Fisher was asked by a fan what it would take for him to reprise his role as Victor Stone in the franchise and according to him, he's still waiting for a proper apology from Hamada.

He said: "That's a complicated question. I think, ultimately, how people spend their money determines what happens and what does not happen in this business, and particularly in comic books and DC. For me, there's a lot of stuff behind the scenes. Obviously, I've not been shy about talking about all of the things that have occurred over the last year, the back and forth that I've had personally and publicly with Warner Bros. Pictures, Walter Hamada, and the rest of the crew over there. For me, I think it all starts with an apology coming from the Warner Bros. side of things. There's a lot of really gnarly stuff that has gone down, especially publicly."

He added: "What Walter Hamada and Warner Bros. Pictures attempted to do, professionally and personally, during one of the most crucial years for black people in the history of really humanity, is just unacceptable. So until such time an apology is issued. I definitely will not be supporting any Walter Hamada productions, period. And it's a tough thing because I'm a DC fan through and through. I love these characters, but sometimes you gotta give up what you love to do what's right."

I mean no disrespect to Fisher himself but even if he expressed his desire to make his DCEU comeback, I don't think WB and DC Films would be willing to work with him again in future projects. I mean, there's a reason why he was dropped from Ezra Miller's standalone The Flash project which was originally set to see Cyborg play a significant role and I don't think it's just because of the Justice League investigation. Clearly, the folks over at the production company weren't huge fans of the actor to begin with.

Meanwhile, Zack Snyder's Justice League is still streaming on HBO Max.
