Rami Malek Being Considered as Villain for Bond 25

The production for Bond 25 had caught a snag after director Danny Boyle left over creative differences, but things seem to be moving forward with new director Cary Joji Fukunaga. The film is currently looking for someone to play the villain, and news has it that a certain Oscar winner is being considered for the role.

According to Variety, Rami Malek is currently being courted to play the villain of the next Bond film. It was said that Malek couldn't do the job before since he had commitments to the final season of Mr. Robot, but it looks like his schedule has opened up for him to work on something like Bond.

Personally, I was hoping that they would do something interesting with Christoph Waltz's Blofeld from the last film, but I think Malek can pull off the role pretty well. Again, he's just being tapped to star, and it's possible that someone else could land the role.

When Boyle was still attached as director, it was rumored that a female villain was being considered with Helena Bonham Carter set to play the part. Things obviously didn't go through with Boyle, but I would have been interested to see Bond go up against a woman this time around.

Bond 25 is said to be Craig's last film in the franchise, and hopefully, it will introduce us to whoever is playing the next Bond. We don't know who's up for the role yet, and I'm curious whether they'll make some grand announcement or they'll just reveal it at the end of the film.

Bond 25 is set to come out on April 8, 2020.
